Dear AREW Members:
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to AREW’s 2007-08 season. In addition to the outstanding learning and networking opportunities our association provides -- all focused on supporting our members’ aspirations for professional and personal growth -- this season will also be one of celebration. It is our 30th year as the industry’s longest-running, strongest and staunchest supporter of women real estate professionals! Though AREW is an acronym for Association of Real Estate Women, I personally think of AREW as an Association of Real Estate Winners.
I liken AREW’s success to that of a sport I am very familiar with -- competitive figure skating. In figure skating, as in building an organization, a strong work ethic, sense of determination, strength and dedication to purpose are necessary to prevail. Skaters often juggle their roles between being a soloist and a member of a synchronized team, much as AREW’s members strive for individual success in their careers while forging bonds and uniting with other professionals through our association.
In the competitive world of figure skating, as in the world of real estate, competency levels must be high, for only a fraction will rise to top-ranked levels. Teamwork, uniting to achieve a goal, challenging ourselves to be the best we can be and building upon momentum are all hallmarks of a great figure skating team -- and a great association.
This season we again commit ourselves to providing our members with an experience that returns a genuine ROI in their membership. We will continue to do what we do best -- inspire, inform, educate and support -- at the highest levels of industry association experience. Not one to rest on our laurels, we will, this year, again raise the bar with regard to the quality of our stellar events and programs.
The new season will begin in September with our traditional kickoff cocktail reception. We are also most excited about our Professional Resource Development Program, an exclusive benefit of AREW membership, which will pair seasoned professionals with those less experienced with the goal of sharing ideas, providing support and encouraging best practices.
I encourage all of our members to make the most of your AREW experience by participating as a volunteer on one of our many committees where great relationships are formed; by making a difference in the greater community through the AREW Charitable Fund; and by continuing to support AREW as an Association of Real Estate Winners!
Sincerely,
Frances Delgorio
