Jennifer Carey is the founder and president of JLC Environmental Consultants a leading, full-service provider of environmental consulting and testing services.
Since its founding in 1987, the JLC team has worked on more than 18,000 real estate related projects. The firm is currently involved on projects such as Madison Yards with the Dragados /Judlau joint venture for the MTA as well as the Second Avenue Subway line. They have recently been awarded an air quality consulting on-call project for the New York City Board of Education and are working for Federated Department Stores at various regional locations. Among the many services JLC provides are LEED EQ pre, during and post construction testing and consulting; phase I,II and III environmental site assessments, asbestos and lead paint management, building constituents analysis, and employee safety (OSHA) training services.
Jennifer Carey has previously served on the board of the Ewing Marion Kaufmann Foundation, Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and was a board member and president of the New York City Chapter of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO). She was selected as a CORO Foundation fellow for Leadership NY Class VII. She currently serves on the New York State Governor’s Small Business Advisory Board and was a White House Conference on Small Business delegation leader for New York State in 1995.
Lina G. Telese, a Partner with Zetlin & De Chiara LLP, focuses her practice on drafting and negotiating professional service contracts for sophisticated construction projects. She has extensive experience with transactional issues related to a variety of national and international projects, including hotel, condo, mixed-use, gaming, education and financial projects. Ms. Telese negotiates and settles cases involving professional licensing issues, contracts and dispute resolution through mediation and arbitration. She frequently appears before state and federal courts with regard to construction and professional liability claims. Ms. Telese represents design professionals, owners, and contractors in all aspects of the construction process, including commercial litigation and insurance related matters.
Ms. Telese was recently named Honorary AIA New York State, in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the architectural industry, and holds the notable AV rating from Martindale Hubbell for the highest marks in ethical standards and legal ability. She is regularly featured during the AIA New York State Conventions and the New York State AIA/ACEC Committee meetings, delivering presentations focused on contractual protections, insurability issues, risk management and green design. Julia is the Manager of Architecture and Design Markets, for Teknion, LLC, a major contract furniture manufacturer based in Toronto.With over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development, her primary responsibility is to work with new and existing clients to bring Teknion products and service programs to the forefront of the A+D community for consideration as the prime solution for clients within the commercial, GSA, educational and healthcare markets.Julia is a LEED Accredited Professional.Prior to joining the contract furniture industry, she worked in Development at The Museum of Modern Art and the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). Julia serves on the Board of Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) and has been the Co-Chair of the Luncheon Committee for three years (2008 - 2011). She has also held varied positions at The William Penn School and The First Church of New York City. Julia is a corporate member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) of New York.
She earned a BA from St. Lawrence University with a major in Art History and a minor in Spanish.Julia attended the University of Madrid and is fluent in Spanish. She later earned a BA in Arts Administration at New York University. A native of New York, Julia and her husband Thom, live in Park Slope with their children, Jack (9) and Lily (6).

Gail is an Officer of the AREW Board, serving as Member-at-Large for the 2011-2012 Year. She was a Board Member and Co-Chair of the Sponsorship Committee for the 2010-2011 Year at AREW. She has been active on the CORENET/NYC Chapter Learning Committee for years; and sits on the Advisory Board and the Membership Committee of the Greater New York Construction Users Council. A key member of the Associates Group, Debra also leads efforts to enhance communication and presentation skills across the office.
As the 2010-11 President of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), Debra employed her far-reaching business development and communications skills to strengthen and expand AREW’s position as one of the New York City real estate industry’s leading associations.
She is currently an officer and serves as immediate Past President on the 2011-2012 Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Perkins + Will in 2005, Debra led business development efforts at SOSH Architects. Holding a B.S. degree in Business Administration/Marketing from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Debra also spent 19 years in the gaming industry where she specialized in consumer and corporate sales and marketing for Trump Plaza Casino Hotel, Showboat Casino Hotel and Resorts International Casino Hotel, before segueing to commercial real estate and the field of architecture and design.
In addition to AREW, Debra serves on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Builders Council and is an active member of CoreNet Global NYC Chapter,
New York Building Congress, Professional Women in Construction and New York Businesswomen’s Network. She serves on the leadership event committee of SHARE (Self Help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer) and the event committee for the Special Olympics Real Estate and Construction Gala.
